There are many reasons why North Little Rock is known as the Sports and Entertainment Capital of Arkansas. It is home to a professional baseball team, draws national sporting tournaments, boasts an energetic downtown life, and hosts several outdoor festivals each year.
Dickey-Stephens Park, home of the Arkansas Traveler’s baseball team, is a shining jewel in North Little Rock’s sporting crown. Just down the street is the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Museum, located just below Verizon Arena. The concert schedule at Verizon Arena regularly includes big names such as Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Foo Fighters, Sugarland, Kid Rock, Bob Seger and many more. You can also enjoy the outdoor concert scene at music festivals including the Argenta Fall Foodie Festival and Riverfest.
Verizon Arena also showcases family-friendly entertainment such as Cirque du Soleil, Disney on Ice, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, and the Harlem Globetrotters as well as other special events including WWE, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Professional Bull Riding and the Arenacross Dirt Bike Series.
For a lively Saturday night, head to Main Street where you can grab a bite to eat and enjoy live music at Creegan’s Irish Pub or relax with a glass of wine in the cozy milieu of Crush Wine Bar. A block over, at The Wyndham, there are three restaurants offering live music as well. Other local festivals include Celebrate the Grape and the Craft Beer Festival.
