The Schools

The North Little Rock School District’s 21 schools welcome approximately 9,000 students from preschool through 12th grade each year. They’re taught by approximately 700 teachers, with help from more than 180 businesses participating in the Partners in Education, Vital Link, Leadership Renaissance, Keystone, East Initiative, Arkansas Scholars and Junior Achievement programs. Several private schools also call the community home, including Full Counsel Preparatory Academy, North Little Rock Montessori School, Central Arkansas Christian Schools (CAC), Immaculate Conception Catholic School (IC), Mount St. Mary Academy, Catholic High School for Boys and many others.

Pulaski Technical College is the state’s largest two-year college, serving both traditional students planning to transfer to a four-year institution and older students seeking a certificate or associate’s degree in one of more than 50 programs. The college continues to grow with a new 92,000-square-foot Campus Center and a 15,000-squarefoot Ottenheimer Library. The college most recently opened a Business and Technology Center in late 2010 and has a satellite campus in southwest Little Rock.

Also, John Brown University, Philander Smith College, Arkansas Baptist College, University of Arkansas for Medical Services, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, ITT Technical Institute, Webster University, University of Pheonix, Shorter College and Remington College have campuses in the area.
