The Schools

The North Little Rock School District’s Capital Improvement Plan is focused on improving facilities to provide the best educational opportunity for all students in the city. The school district’s newly structured 16 schools welcome approximately 9,000 students from preschool through 12th grade. Students are taught by 600 teachers, and supported by 100 partnerships through the Partners in Education program, EAST Initiative, Arkansas Scholars, Leadership Renaissance and Career Connect programs in The Chamber.The Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub located in the heart of the city is a collaborative ecosystem of innovation driving economic development through unique hands-on opportunities in STEAM education,entrepreneurship, arts and technology. Pulaski Technical College is the state’s largest comprehensive two-year college that serves the educational needs of central Arkansas through more than 88 occupational / technical degree and certificate programs. The college continues to grow and recently opened the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts, which is the largest academic division in the college.John Brown University, Philander Smith College, Arkansas Baptist College,Harding University, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, University of Central Arkansas, Clinton School of Public Service, Strayer University, ITT Technical Institute, Webster University,University of Phoenix, Shorter College,University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff-North Little Rock Campus have campuses in the area.
